Reconstitution of LCs and DDCs from CD44⁺CD25⁺ precursors.

Thymic CD44⁺ CD25⁺ precursors (3 × 10⁴) were injected IV into 7 Gy γ-irradiated 8-week-old C57 BL/6 Ly 5.1 Pep^3b recipient mice, along with 4 × 10⁴ Ly 5.1 BM cells to ensure survival of recipients. Mice were exposed to UV-C irradiation for 30 minutes, 24 hours after transfer of CD44⁺ CD25⁺ precursors. The percentage of Ly 5.2⁺ and Ly 5.2⁻ MHC II⁺ LCs and DDCs is indicated. Data are representative of 2 independent experiments with similar results.
