Temporal changes in fetal hemoglobin, hemoglobin, and absolute neutrophil and absolute reticulocyte counts of patient 3 in response to 5-aza-CdR treatment.

An HU nonresponder was treated with 5-aza-CdR in a dose of 0.2 mg/kg per day for 2 treatment cycles. HbF peaked at 8.3% during the first cycle and increased to 11.3% during the second cycle. Maximum HbF was attained 3 to 4 weeks after the beginning of each cycle.
