Effect of IGF-I on in vitro proliferation of MM cells.
Cells from indicated lines were seeded at 105/well in 24-well plates and incubated in the presence (solid bar) or absence (hatched bar) of 100 ng/mL of IGF-I for 68 hours in the absence of serum, followed by a 4-hour pulse with 1 μCi of 3H-thymidine. IGF-I–induced mitogenesis is presented as fold increase calculated by dividing the mean value of the untreated wells by that of IGF-I–stimulated counterparts. Data represent average values of triplicate samples from 3 separate experiments.
