(A) Double staining for BCL-6 and BCL-2 in reactive lymph node showing analogy between BCL-6 and BCL-2 expression in thymic cortex (Figure4A,B) and germinal centers of lymphoid follicles. BCL-6+cells (nuclear, brown) are present in germinal centers, while BCL-2+ cells (cytoplasmic, blue) are seen primarily outside germinal centers. (B) Higher magnification shows that most germinal center cells express BCL-6 and are BCL-2−. Only scattered cells in germinal centers are BCL-2+ and do not express BCL-6.
