Immunohistochemical analysis of IP-10, Mig, and I-TAC expression in human thymus.
Sections were immunostained with anti–IP-10, Mig or I-TAC (red) Ab, using the avidin-biotin-peroxidase method. IP-10 (A), Mig (C), and I-TAC (E) showed a localization similar to that found by in situ hybridization (Figure 1). Double immunostaining for CK (bluish gray) and IP-10 (B) or Mig (D) (red) reveals that the 2 chemokines are produced by thymic epithelial cells (purple brown), whereas I-TAC is constitutively produced not only by epithelial cells (purple brown), but also by several other thymocytes (F) (red).
