Shp-2 is required for T- and B-lymphocyte development.

Thymocytes or splenocytes were stained with anti-CD4 and anti-CD8a; splenocytes were also stained with anti-IgM and anti-CD19. Live cells (10 000) were collected and analyzed for each sample. Data from one Shp-2^+/−/Rag-2^−/− and one Shp-2^−/−/Rag-2^−/− chimera are shown. We examined 4 Shp-2^−/−/Rag-2^−/− chimeric animals and obtained consistent results.
