Fas-L secretion by myeloma plasma cells.

Measurement by ELISA of sFas-L in SNs from cultured myeloma clones revealed its significant release by cells from stage III patients, whose levels in cultures no. 16 and 17 were higher than the reference value obtained using 2 μg/mL recombinant Fas-L as standard. The functional activity of sFas-L in SNs was assessed by the MTT assay using the WC8 cell line, a human Fas-transfected mouse lymphoma, whereas the parental cell line WR19L was used as Fas⁻control.
