Effect of VEGF on cytokine elaboration from bone marrow stroma.

Bone marrow stroma from a patient with RAEB were exposed to the A.4.6.1 VEGF-neutralizing antibody (1 μg/mL)—ie, anti-VEGF or rhu-VEGF (50 ng/mL)—for 24 hours, and cytokine concentrations in stroma supernatants were analyzed by ELISA. Changes in cytokine concentration are expressed as percentage value in control supernatants ± SD. *Statistically significant changes in cytokine concentration (P ≤ .05).
