pLL₂₀/DNA_ct and pLL₂₁₁/DNA_ct complexes fix human complement C3 and bind IgG but are not hematotoxic in vitro.

(A) Hematotoxicity of pLL₂₀/DNA_ct (■) or pLL₂₁₁/DNA_ct (▪) complexes was determined by their incubation in human or rat blood at 37°C for 1 hour. Blood cells were removed by centrifugation, and the presence of hemoglobin in the supernatant was measured by absorbance at 550 nm.
