T cells from the BFU-E purification process were incubated for 24 hours with 3 μg/mL PHA. Cells were then washed and incubated for 5 days with 30 U/mL IL-2. RNA was then isolated and experiments were performed as in Figure 1, but with only p16 (exon 2), L32, and GAPDH gene probes.
