Expression profiles of 2304 genes in the MDS and AML blasts.

(A) Hierarchical clustering of 2304 genes based on their expression profiles in Blast Bank samples of individuals with AML or MDS. Each column represents a single gene on the microarray, and each row a separate patient sample. The fluorescence intensity of each gene was normalized by the mean fluorescence value of spots in each hybridization, and is shown color-coded as indicated on the left. Gray indicates the data of blank spots. (B) Mean expression values for each gene were calculated for MDS and AML samples and used to generate a dendrogram. The positions of the clusters of MDS-specific genes and AML-specific genes are indicated at the bottom by pink and purple bars, respectively. (C) Expression profiles of MDS-specific genes.
