CD86− DCs exhibited short, blunt prolongations (A), a round nucleus with prominent nucleoli, multiple cytoplasmic vesicles, mitochondria, few lysosomes (C), and typical “veils” (E). After maturation, CD86+ DCs showed a typical dendritic morphology, with an eccentric, indented nucleus (B, D) and a veiled surface with delicate filamentous projections with knoblike tips (F, arrow).
