RANK and c-Fms expression is induced in the presence of GM-CSF.

The c-Fms⁺RANK⁻ cells were cultured in the presence of 100 ng/mL M-CSF or 50 ng/mL GM-CSF alone or both for 24 and 72 hours, and the expression of c-Fms (A) and RANK (B) was examined by FACS. The expression of c-Fms, RANK, and GM-CSF receptor (C) was analyzed by RT-PCR. Expression of c-Fms and RANK was observed in the presence of GM-CSF alone or GM-CSF and M-CSF, and the expression of GM-CSF receptor α chain (GM-CSF Rα) was detected in the presence of M-CSF or M-CSF and GM-CSF.
