Effects of TGF-β1 on colony-forming ability.

Effects on bone marrow cells from (A) p21−/− or (B) p27−/− mice in vitro. Murine bone marrow cells were plated at density of 1 × 10⁵/mL in methylcellulose culture system supplemented with cytokine cocktails and cultured for 10 days as described in “Materials and methods.” Total CFCs were scored at day 10 by independent investigators. Data presented are mean ± SD from 4 replicates. No significant differences were observed between −/− and +/+ cells at any given dose of TGF-β1 (n = 3 independent experiments).
