Transduction of the human T-lymphoid cell line Molt-3 with a retroviral vector carrying a truncated CD2 LCR sequence indicates that LCR activity requires the full-length 2.1-kb element.

Molt-3 cells were infected with LESN, LESNΔ, and LESNΔ-LCR1 retroviral vectors generated by transient transfection of 293T cells. Four weeks after transduction and selection in G418-containing medium, the percentage of EGFP-expressing cells was quantified by FACS analysis.
