SDF-1/CXCR-4 regulation of ECM-dependent tube formation by endothelial cells.

HUVECs (30 × 10⁴) were plated on Matrigel-coated, 48-well plates and were incubated for 16 hours in medium alone, with PTX, or with antibodies (neutralizing goat IgG antihuman SDF-1; control goat IgG; neutralizing murine monoclonal antihuman CXCR4 IgG2A, clone12G5; or control murine IgG2A, hybridoma 20102.1; all at 10 μg/mL). Images reflect tube formation after 16-hour incubation detected by phase-contrast microscopy (original magnification, ×5). Representative results from 4 experiments.
