(A) Effects of various stimuli on platelet superoxide (O) production. Collagen (6 μg/mL, n = 24) and phorbol-12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA, 1 μM, n = 21), but not ADP (5-50 μM, n = 9) or thrombin (0.1-1 U/mL, n = 12), increased O formation by platelets (10 minutes after stimulation). O was measured by L-012 chemiluminescence. (B) Influence on NAD(P)H oxidase and PKC inhibitors on collagen-induced (6 μg/mL) O formation.
