Induction of THP-1 cell procoagulant activity by EMP binding.

THP-1 cells were incubated with EMP (black bars), control medium (white bars), or LPS (gray bars) for 15 minutes and 4 hours and then were prepared for assessment of procoagulant activity using clotting assay, as noted in “Materials and methods.” Procoagulant activity was determined by reference to a thromboplastin standard curve and was expressed as arbitrary units.
