Human SMCs (A), macrophages (B), or HAECs (C) in the amount of 2 × 10⁵/well were incubated in the absence of lipoproteins (open bars) or in the presence of 100 μg/mL native LDL (hatched bars) or 100 μg/mL oxLDL (black bars) for the time intervals indicated. Subsequently, ¹²⁵I-fVIII was added to a final concentration of 0.5 nM and its binding was determined as described in “Materials and methods.” Each data point represents the mean value ± SD of triplicate determinations.
