Thrombin generation induced by CRP-XL. CRP-XL–induced thrombin generation was studied in 7 “aa” and 7 “bb” donors. The amount of thrombin generated by platelet plasma in the absence of CRP-XL was taken to be 100% for each assay condition. The differences between the time taken in the absence and in the presence of CRP-XL to reach peak thrombin generation (Tmax) was calculated as a ratio, with the shortening of the time represented by a ratio less than 1.0. Data are expressed as the mean ± SEM, and statistically significant differences between the “aa” and the “bb” groups (P < .05, Mann-Whitney U test) are marked by asterisk.
