Injection of αDEC conjugates inhibits T-cell proliferation in CHS reactions in vivo. (A) For CHS reactions, mice were sensitized with TNCB followed by injection of derivatized αDEC-205 or Gl117 antibodies. Five days later, mice were challenged with TNCB at the right ear, and ear thickness was measured after 24 hours using a caliper rule. The asterisk indicates a significant difference (mean of 5 mice/group; α < 0.05) from antibody control (αDEC only). Results from 1 of 4 typical experiments are shown. (B) Mice were treated as in panel A, except that LN cells were prepared, 5 × 10⁵ cells were incubated with TNBS, and T-cell proliferation was determined 3 days later.
