PlGF-induced AKT phosphorylation in THP-1 cells. THP-1 cells were grown overnight in RPMI medium containing 2% FBS. Cells were then starved for 2 hours in serum-free media and treated with PlGF for the indicated times. Cell lysates were analyzed for phospho AKT by Western blot using antiphospho AKT (pSer473) antibody. Equal loading of the gels was confirmed by probing with antibody specific for unphosphorylated AKT (lower panel, AKT).
