CD58-transfected CHO cells induced pDC-specific increases in class II expression and IL-1β and IL-12 production. The pDCs (A-C) and pMo's (D-F) were cultured overnight in the presence of CHO-NEO (B,E) or CHO-58 (C,F). These samples were assessed by immunofluorescence analysis for the expression of HLA-DR, and the results were compared with isotype controls (A,D). The supernatants from pDCs (▪) and pMo's (□) cocultured in either CHO-NEO or CHO-58 were harvested, and IL-1β (G) and IL-12 (H) levels were measured; data are presented as mean ± SEM.
