Inhibition of the formation and growth of lung metastases in mouse CT26 colon adenocarcinoma. Mice were immunized as described, and 5 × 105 CT26 cells were then injected into tail vein 1 week after the fourth immunization. The experiment was terminated after 18 days when control mice became moribund, and lungs were weighed and assessed for the presence of surface metastasis. qVEGFR vaccine can decrease the number of surface metastases (A) and abolish tumor burden by rendering the weight of lungs similar to that of no-intervention mice (normal) (B).
