Figure 1.
Expression of the AP-1 family members JunB, c-Jun, c-Fos, Fra-1, and JunD in human lymphomas. (A) Tissue array analysis from 77 human lymphomas samples including B-cell chronic lymphoid leukemia (B-CLL; n = 9), diffuse large-cell lymphomas (D-LBLs; n = 28), follicular lymphomas (FLs; n = 23), and anaplastic large-cell lymphomas (ALCLs, n = 17). Histogram bars indicate the percentage of each lymphoma entity with high expression of JunB, c-Jun, c-Fos, Fra-1, and JunD. (B) Immunohistologic staining of an ALCL (left) and of an FL (right). Transformed T cells in ALCL show a strong staining for CD4, CD30, and JunB. The tumor cells in FL stain positive for CD20 and CD23 but not for JunB. Original magnification, × 600. Stains were performed using DAB (3,3 Diaminobenzidin) for JunB and APAAP for all other antibodies. (C) Western blot analysis of lymph nodes from patients suffering from different B-cell malignancies for JunB expression. Lanes 1-3 indicate diffuse large-cell lymphomas (D-LBLs); lanes 4-7, follicular lymphomas (FLs); lanes 8-10, B-cell chronic lymphoid leukemia (B-CLL); lane 11, ALCL; and lanes C1-C4, control lymph nodes.
