Compared to control, fbg–/– mice produce loosely packed large thrombi and both 7E9-treated and γΔ5 mice produce small mural thrombi. Scanning electron micrographs of carotid arteries of a control IgG-treated mouse, a fbg–/– mouse, a 7E9-treated mouse, and γΔ5 mouse 30 minutes after FeCl3 injury. There was a large, dense thrombus in the animal treated with control IgG, a large but loosely packed thrombus in the fbg–/– animal, and smaller mural thrombi in both the γΔ5 mouse and 7E9-treated mouse.
