VE–cadherin-null and VE-cadherin–positive endothelial cells transfected or not transfected with Gas1 cDNA were cultured in absence of serum for 72 hours. Cell apoptosis was quantified by measuring DNA fragmentation as oligonucleosomes OD (absorbance A405nm - A490nm)/μg proteins of cell extract. The values are means ± SD of 4 separate experiments performed in triplicate.
