Scanning electron micrographs reveal that HOCl-LDL alone induces formation of microaggregates; combination with ADP results in stable aggregate formation. Washed platelets were subjected to HOCl-LDL (20 μg/mL), ADP (1 μM), and the combination of the 2 agonists with or without the presence of PKC inhibitor for 30 seconds at 37°C as described for Figure 1 and then fixed with glutaraldehyde for subsequent processing and examination by scanning electron microscopy.
