IL-2 led to decreases in CD4⁺ T-cell proliferation that were independent of changes in viral load and correlated with increases in the numbers of CD4⁺ T cells. (B) A statistically significant correlation was seen between changes in CD4⁺ T-cell counts and changes in Ki67 expression in CD4⁺ T cells in the IL-2 group (Spearman correlation coefficient r = –0.6, P = .001).
