Improvement of survival following treatment of irradiated mice with perindopril. B6D2F1 mice (30 per group) received a single dose of 8.3 Gy plus 10 mg/kg (A), 30 mg/kg (B), or 90 mg/kg (C) of subcutaneous perindopril twice a day for 4 days beginning 48 hours before exposure to irradiation. Survival was scored daily for 48 days. Log-rank tests and survival curves showed that irradiated mice given perindopril survived significantly (P = .08, P < .01, and P < .01 for the 3 doses, respectively) longer than irradiated mice that received water.
