E₂ pretreatment enhances the LPS-induced production of MCP-1, TARC, and MDC by DCs. Immature DCs from 5 different donors were cultured with BC, E₂ (20 μg/mL), or medium alone for 24 hours, followed by stimulation with (▦) or without (□) LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 hours. Supernatants were collected and analyzed by ELISA for the presence of IL-8 (A), MCP-1 (B), TARC (C), and MDC (D). The boxes show the 10th, 25th, 50th (median, central line), 75th, and 90th percentiles of the variable (ng/mL IL-8, MCP-1, TARC, and MDC). Statistics were calculated using the Wilcoxon matched pairs test.
