(A) Normal pancreas tissue showing the intense positive cytoplasmic staining for hCNT3 exhibited by pancreatic islet cells (original magnification × 25; inset × 40). (B) This CLL case shows pseudofollicles with prolymphocytes (white arrows) that were positive for hCNT3 immunostaining, whereas the small cell component (black open arrow) shows no immunostaining (original magnification × 40). (C) This CLL case again shows cytoplasmic staining in the scattered prolymphocytes, whereas small cells show detectable cytoplasmic immunostaining (original magnification × 40). Images were captured with a Nikon Eclipse E 680 microscope by Nikon View V3.0 software (Nikon, Melville, NY) using a Nikon 40 × lens with a 0.65 aperture.
