Trend lines for each group were derived by smoothing the tumor flux over all mice within a group. Background flux measurements, simultaneously measured from mice without ffLuc⁺ tumor that received D-luciferin, was between 10⁶ and 10⁷ p/s per cm²/sr, as discussed in “Statistical methods to analyze biophotonic data.” Tumor flux was measured periodically, as discussed in “Biophotonic tumor imaging.” Mouse treatment groups are as described in the legend to Figure 5.
