Loss of monolayer integrity and cell junction proteins after MRP8/MRP14 treatment. HMEC monolayers were cultured on coverslips and were treated for 16 hours with MRP8/MRP14 or control medium. Immunofluorescence staining was performed for membranous structures with filipin (A) and for VE-cadherin (B), β-catenin (C), and ZO-1 (D). Loss of cell junction proteins and substantial holes are indicated by arrows (A-D). Scale bar, 10 μm.
