Effect of rapamycin on tumor growth of mice with orthotopically implanted L3.6pl pancreatic tumors. Control mice receiving daily saline injections (▪) had to be humanely killed on day 26 because of tumor side effects. In the rapamycin-treated group (○) 4 mice were humanely killed for comparative histomorphologic analysis; the 6 animals left were kept on therapy to confirm long-time survival.
