Effect of AP23464 on hematopoietic colony formation. Normal bone marrow mononuclear cells were incubated in semisolid media in the presence of SCF, GM-CSF, and IL-3, with or without erythropoietin, with escalating AP23464 concentrations. Granulocyte/macrophage (CFU-GM) and erythrocyte (BFU-E) colony numbers are reported for 4 and 3 bone marrow samples, respectively, as a percentage of the untreated culture. Each data point represents the average of duplicate cultures. IC50 values and standard deviation were calculated from the average of all samples. Error bars depict standard deviation of the mean.
