A numerical degree of severity is assigned for the cutaneous, gastrointestinal, neurovascular, and hematopoietic systems, as defined in Tables 4 and 5. Thehighest degree in any system indicates the overall “response category” (i.e., 1, 2, 3or 4). *Victims with significant injury to a nonhematopoietic system are poorcandidates for transplantation.
