Abstract
Studies were made with CBA T6T6 chimeras to evaluate the contribution of migrating cells to the recovery of x-irradiated marrow. It was observed that cell migration from a shielded limb is essentially entirely responsible for the 30-day recovery of marrow irradiated with 1000 rad. Thus, these findings provide a direct demonstration of the generally accepted inference of stem cell migration from unirradiated to irradiated sites.
