Abstract
In these experiments, viable spleen cells from young, healthy AKR mice were injected intravenously into newborn C3Hf/Bi mice. Acquired tolerance to normal skin and leukemic cell homografts from AKR mice was demonstrated in the C3H animals. This presence of "cellular chimerism" with lymphoid cells from a strain of mice with a high spontaneous incidence of leukemia did not result in the development of this disease in the host animals. These tolerant C3Hf/Bi mice were also found not to be susceptible as adults to leukemia induction with cell free filtrates from leukemic tissues of AKR mice.
