The anti-C2 domain immune response to factor VIII. The X-ray crystal structure of factor VIII is represented by electrostatic surface potential, and three different inhibitory antibodies are represented as ribbon diagrams (cyan: 3E6 classical antibody, green: G99 non-classical antibody, orange: BO2C11 classical antibody). Each inhibitory antibody recognizes discrete regions of the factor VIII C2 domain, predominantly through electrostatic interactions (blue surface: positive charge, red surface: negative charge).
